Riding my bicycle (off the beaten track) around NZ to raise moolah for Breast Cancer and Mental Health.

Kia ora!
My name is Cam & I’m going to ride my bike around this beautiful country we call home - Aotearoa NZ, the land of the long white cloud. It’s going to bust my butt, literally & figuratively, riding, unsupported, over 6000km carrying everything bar the kitchen sink (well, everything necessary to survive) but in the words of the great Sir Ed, I’m going to “knock the bastard off” to raise funds for Breast Cancer & Mental Health.
Breast Cancer & Mental Illness are all too common & just about everyone has been affected by them in some way, either directly or indirectly.
In 2016, at the age of 32, my sister, George, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was a surreal & scary time for our family. I can’t imagine what it was like for her! We are extremely fortunate she has now been cancer free for 6 years.
Over the last year I’ve struggled with my own mental health – a catalyst for embarking on this challenge. For me, exercise has always been an important part of my health & wellbeing. This bikepacking adventure will be important for me personally but all the more rewarding to raise money for these great charities to improve health outcomes for all.
My goal to raise $60,000 is fairly ambitious but I’ve always believed in pushing myself & aiming high. So get amongst and help a brother out yo!
