Supporting freshwater recovery and development aid for Tonga after the devastating eruption and tsunamis.
Wellington
You may know that in 1970 I spent a year as a VSA school leaver volunteer in Tonga. Since then Tonga has continued to be a very significant part of my life.
As today is my significant birthday (70) and I personally don't want or need any gifts, I thought that would be a chance for you to gift a little to the recovery efforts in Tonga. Caritas Aotearoa is already funding Caritas Tonga especially in providing freshwater projects for villages.
Please consider giving a little to this cause as a birthday gift.
Malo 'aupito G. Thank you for your generous donation for Tonga. It's a hard life for people on the island right now and tough for their families overseas. Your card arrived today and was lovely to get that. Thank you for your kind thoughts. I look forward to catching up sometime soon. 'Ofa atu. John
Malo e lelei Alison and Eddie. Thank you very much for your generous donation. It certainly is a worthy cause and now Tonga have their first outbreak of Covid to cope with. Must catch up sometime soon to celebrate all birthdays. They can take a whole year to complete. 'Ofa atu. John

Malo e lelei Bridget & Jon. Thank you very much for your generous donation to a cause close to my heart. Tonga are certainly having a hard time of it at the moment with the outbreak of Covid on top of the tsunami. I really appreciate your friendship and your generosity.
