Running 224 km's to raise funds for the Lung Foundation NZ on lung cancer research & education!
Wellington
Kia ora koutou,
The other night, I had a series of inspirational thoughts on how I could contribute to our communities. I came up with the idea of promoting awareness of Lung Cancer in November. I've decided to set up this fundraising page to help raise funds for Lung Cancer research and education.
Lung cancer is the most deadly cancer in Aotearoa NZ, taking the lives of more than 1,600 Kiwis per year. However, like many forms of cancers, it often occurs undetected in our communities, putting a lot of people at vulnerable risk. I personally do not know of anyone who has lung cancer, further testifying how easily evading lung cancer diagnosis can be. Therefore, I really wanted to do something meaningful this year by setting a personal challenge - running 224 km's (in honour of the year '2024') during the entire month.
In this current climate, I emphatically understand that everyone has tightened some of the lids on their lives, but if you could spare a kind donation or koha, that would really mean a lot to my cause. Your generosity allows us to continue the fight against cancer and progressively get rid of cancer for good. Know that your donations/koha would do wonders for so many communities and people!
If you cannot make a donation that's okay - just simply keep up with my journey. Even the littlest of support can go a long way in more ways than you can imagine! I will attempt to keep track of my runs on Strava (you can give me 'kudos' on there too).
"Surely it can't be that bad" - last night 18 November 2024
Of course I have no regrets running under the UV 10 midday sun without water 😵💫
