Will you help empower Cambodian women with us on our special days?
Auckland
Often the key to sustainable change in impoverished rural communities in Cambodia is women. They are the crucial influencers for their families. However many village women are uneducated and have little or no knowledge about human reproduction, family violence, child marriage or human trafficking. As a result they are vulnerable and unable to break the cycle of poverty and abuse. Through our amazing Family Empowerment Project, Asian Outreach Cambodia teams train women and young girls about menstruation, risks of trafficking and child marriage, domestic violence and hygiene. As a result, they can make better choices for their families and pass on knowledge to the next generation.
The women make a small donation and receive a kit which contains reusable sanitary pads, which offer them greater freedom, allowing teenage girls to attend school all month. This project is integrated with our Assisting Children To School and Clean Water projects.
