I am fundraising money to shave my hair off in October 2024! Help me reach my 2K goal for Child Cancer Foundation & Camp Quality New Zealand

New Plymouth, Taranaki

In August 2003, at the age of 4 & a 1/2, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). ALL Is the most common form of childhood cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells. It was a curve ball my whānau were not expecting, to say the least.

In October 2006, I KICKED CANCERS ASS!

Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t get the same positive outcome as I did, I can appreciate the feeling of loss when you have someone close to you pass from any form of cancer, but to be a parent and watch your child suffer would be something I would never wish upon anyone, I’m just thankful my mum and whānau were there as the support system I needed. I would choose them again in this life and the next!

Now to the reason I’m posting, I have decided that in October 2024, marking 18 years in remission, I will be shaving ALL of my hair and fundraising money for Child Cancer Foundation & Camp Quality New Zealand.

I am setting my fundraising target at $2,000. It may seem hefty but it’s all for 2 AMAZING charities! I’d love for anyone to pledge a donation to my give-a-little page, or even better jump on the bandwagon and shave your melon with me!

Every dollar raised will help provide families with practical and emotional support to get them through the many challenges that cancer can bring.
