Saturday 21 March 2020, Chris, along with his little merry band of helpers, completed 71.74kms around the Campbell Mill/Perham's track in Paraparaumu. He looked remarkably well when he finished (despite the lack of feeling in his legs). He was jollied along by though by a few nearest an dearest with the help of our friend Gay (shout out to Kapiti Ebikes on Ihakara st !!) who very kindly donated ebikes from us to keep us with this bionic man!
Well done Chris, we're all so very very proud of you.
Chris still wants to attempt the 72kms run. He's chosen a local run up into the hills which he will circle 5 times. Go Chris!!
In the last hour we have received news that in light of the situation with COVID-19 and the PM's direction that gatherings of 500+ cannot not take place, the organisers of Ring of Fire have had to announce the cancellation of the race.
We are gutted beyond measure.
Chris has every intention of doing this race. It just won't be at this time.
We'd like to say how grateful we are for everyone's support and generous donations, they will help towards an awesome charity and a very important cause. Thank you so much.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, Chris and I are so grateful for the support!
