Cisco - Te Kiwi Maia Fundraising - help those that help you.

Nationwide

The Cisco team in New Zealand is fundraising to support Te Kiwi Māia.

Many of us have been helped by New Zealand’s amazing first responders. Members of the Fire Service, Police, Ambulance, Armed Forces, Lifeguards and others have come the aid of you or your family members. But we don’t often think of the toll this job takes on the people who safeguard New Zealanders. Some members of those teams end up with physical or psychological injuries and need a safe place to rehabilitate and recover. Te Kiwi Māia provides this service. Have a listen to Brendon’s story.

The Cisco team is taking on a personal audacious goal we are calling the summit challenge to raise money and whether you give a few dollars or more, everything helps. The summit challenge works like this:

Choose a summit – whether it be Everest at 8848m or a Ruapehu at 2797m, the goal will suite the persons ability and time.

Climb the summit – find a hill and in the next 20 weeks climb it enough times to reach the personal summit goal. For example, an Everest challenge up Mount Eden would require walking up 6 times a week.

Although this is a goal that I will struggle to conquer, it doesn’t come close to the difficulties faced by the brave first responders who are helping us. If you can spare a few dollars, I’d be grateful if you would consider donating to this worthwhile cause. Every dollar makes a difference.
