Participating in Kiwis Run for South Sudan
Bay of Plenty
I will be joining a team of dedicated Kiwis who will be walking/running 1600km (the length of NZ) on November 15th across NZ to raise funds for this awesome cause. The plan is to run 13 laps of Mauou, Mt Maunganui, which is 42km (a marathon).
With your help this year we would like to raise $50,000 to:
1. Bring clean water to 2000 people
2. Provide healthcare to 2,000 mothers and children
3. Train another 500 Community Health Promoters
South Sudan is the world's youngest country, and has some of the worst health statistics in the world. To combat this, we helped start the IDAT Community Health and Evangelism Programme, which has so far trained over 6000 community health promoters in 100 villages. These volunteers are providing health education to a whole generation of South Sudanese, including topics such as hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, antenatal & postnatal care, prevention of malaria and much more.
Alongside the health training, we empower communities in South Sudan to achieve their development goals through drilling water wells, and helping establish village schools, medical outreaches, community farms and churches.
Some generous donors passionate about the cause have banded together to offer up to $25,000 of matching donations for this campaign. This means that for every $1 you donate, you are having $2 of impact in South Sudan.
Nearly there! 12 November 2025
Thanks for all the generous donations!!
Collectively we are walking/running 1600km (length of NZ) to bring clean water & health care to the people of South Sudan!
