Support me to climb Mauao 38 times, the equivalent height of Mount Everest, to raise money for our local hospice.
Bay of Plenty
As William Wallace said in Braveheart, "Every man dies. But not every man really lives." While I live, I want to do what I can to help those in need. That's why I'm fundraising for the Waipuna Hospice, where those who are dying are wrapped in care and love. Any one of us may need hospice support one day.
To raise funds I am joining the Everest Challenge, where the goal is to climb local peak Mauao 38 times, or the equivalent height of Everest, in 51 days. I'm going to attempt it in less than 40 days ('cos I started it late and will be out of town before it finishes!)
Please sponsor me to complete the challenge and support the hospice. Donate as much as you like, but my aim is for everyone who reads this to give at least $5. Together, we can do good!
Two years ago, I held my 86-year-old friend Cliff's hand as he lay dying in the hospice. It was a sad time but I was so impressed with the care and compassion he received. It is a privilege to raise money for the Waipuna Hospice, so up the Mount I'll be going - rain, hail or shine - every day for the next 40.
The Mount Everest Challenge is back! Join us and Climb the Mount 38 times in 50 days to raise money for Waipuna Hospice.
