FUNDRAISING TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE GET BACK INTO A LIFE WORTH LIVING.
Red Beach, Auckland
I can't believe its already been a year, but here we are again.
On Saturday 15th Feb, I will be dragging myself 33km along every beach and rocky headland and through every estuary on the North Shore in the Coastal Challenge Run/Swim from Arkles Bay to Devonport.
Together, last time we used my participation in this event to raise over $1,000 for the fantastic charity Youth In Transition. The mental health crisis in New Zealand is undeniable, with youth suicide rates among the highest in the world. Youth in Transition (YIT) is dedicated to supporting young people aged 8-24 who are struggling with mental health challenges. Their mission is clear: to ensure that financial barriers never prevent a young person from accessing the help they need, when they need it most.
Since its inception in 2014, YIT has supported over 800 young individuals, all without any government funding. This incredible achievement has only been made possible by the generosity of supporters, which is both awe-inspiring and, frankly, astonishing.
However, to continue providing essential services—like paying for therapists, covering utility bills, and meeting the many other operational costs—YIT needs further support. I’m reaching out today to help raise funds that will ensure this vital service can continue to help those who need it most.”
