Crawl the Bays 2021 - Raising money for KidsCan

    I'm eternally grateful to all that helped me throughout the last month.

    .

    We managed to complete the 8km Bear Crawl in what I would argue is record worthy time. But more importantly, we raised close to $12,000 for the KidsCan guys to use in our communities, to level the playing field for underprivileged kids in NZ.

    .

    From minute one, back on the 12th Feb when I declared intent, until the completion of the crawl on the 6th March, I have had the most heart warming support. From lovely messages of support, chin wags in the gym, likes/comments/shares on the socials, donations to the Givealittle, it has all been so bloody good😭😭

    .

    Today is Sat the 13th March, and even now the fatigue has still not left my mind and body. I'm still sleeping alot, and aching even at rest. I don't mention this for sympathy, but more to those of you who I have not expressed my gratitude enough, a glimpse of how little energy I currently have, to perform anything other than getting to work and back in my days. I'll get to you all soon🙏🏼🙏🏼

    Thanks to tvnz one news for spending the morning with me, and creating such a beautiful piece to raise awareness for the work that KidsCan do to support underprivileged families in New Zealand. And providing y'all a glimpse of the feat you've been supporting.

    .

    I hope to do some positive community work, while also encouraging others to embrace the blessing of movement, by testing my own limits this year.

  • The Bear Crawl will go ahead, lockdown aside

    Round The Bays 2021 cancelled(?) thanks to Cousin Covid turning up uninvited.

    .

    I've trained too hard, and had too many people get behind me in my fundraising campaign for KidsCan, to not complete the bear Crawl.

    .

    This weekend, Sat 6 March 2021, I will complete 8.25 laps of the Parrs Park football fields, totalling 8.4km, to mimic the planned Round The Bays Event.

    .

    Thank you once again to everyone who has shown support for myself, and the KidsCan fundraiser. This effort has been all about raising awareness for NZ children who haven't had the easiest start to life, and who's lives can be dramatically improved by our efforts. Your help is starting empowering conversations, and also raising money to provide food and resources to level the playing field for upto a QUARTER OF A MILLION underprivileged kids.

    Hey everyone🐻

    Thank you so much for the support so far. Truly! I'm blown away with the collaborative this has become. We've raised funds, and started conversations that will help the near quarter of a million NZ children in underprivileged households💚💚

    I'm still crawling everyday leading up to the event this Sunday. I'm doing media stuff, well outside my comfort zone. I'm missing hours at work. All in an attempt to raise the funds and awareness that I believe KidsCans beautiful cause, deserves.
