Participating in Climb 4 Youth 2023
Hamilton, Waikato
As an HR & Recruitment Consultant and Trustee, I have seen first hand the value of youth leadership development and mentoring programs have provided for people later in their life journey. The more resources for values based programs like those offered by Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato the better our businesses and communities are in the long run.
Last year I set the bar at 3 laps and smashed it by doing 5 laps in 4 hours. This year the goal is 5 laps and on my way to doing the 6th lap when the 4hrs ticks over. It hasn't been quite the summer training programme as last year. For those who know me I live by the words - Carpe Diem and incremental achievements. The bar was set last year so this year I am finding out what is possible.
So please join me in supporting the Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato and its the founder Graeme Dingle (pictured)
BACKGROUND
The Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato are running a fundraising event at the Hakarimata Kauri Loop Track in Ngaruawahia. Climbers will be proving that what they have inside is greater than the obstacle they face. By setting and achieving return trips, and a fundraising goal, they will be role-modelling our mission of empowering young people to overcome life’s obstacles.
The Hakarimata Kauri Loop track sits 260m above sea level. The Track is 3km long consisting of 1,500 steps! Climbers will have a 4-hour period to complete their set target of return trips.
Climbers will represent Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato by overcoming climbing the Hakarimata Kauri Loop Track multiple times in 4 hours.
