I'm dancing to raise money for a new home for Nelson Hospice. Help me raise money for this important local cause!
Nelson / Tasman
Following in the steps of her husband Scott, who donned a yellow tutu in 2012 for a starring role in a Peta Spooner production of Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers from the Nutcracker Suite, Rachel jumped (literally) at the chance to dance for a cause.
Rachel’s ballet career began as a 7-year-old at the Royal Wanganui Opera House, where she played an Elf in a critically acclaimed production of the Wizard of Oz. Unfortunately, her ballet career ended abruptly and she hasn’t danced on stage since (the one exception being Scott and Rachel’s ‘first dance’ performance of YMCA at their wedding in 2009).
Rachel is hoping her music degree will help her find her rhythm on the dance floor so that she doesn’t come last. She is desperately hoping she isn’t tasked with performing a quickstep.
Rachel has experienced first hand the professionalism, warmth and care provided by Nelson Tasman Hospice staff, when her best friend’s mother passed away in 2013 from cancer at the Manuka St site. The new Hospice will be an important facility for our growing region, and Rachel is very proud to support the community fundraising efforts.
I'm dancing for a cause! Like many Nelsonians, my family and friends have a connection to Hospice, and I'll be out on the dance floor on May 26 to raise money for a new home for Hospice. I'd love your support!
