      19 July 2010

Meeeeow! I am a finalist! My fundraising wasn't quite enough to make it the top 5 in the end, but the judges picked me for my lovable self as part of the other top 5. This made me very happy! So now it's voting time and I'm campaigning. I will be getting out there kissing babies and shaking paws with the elderly. Please vote for me as your next top cat model at?http://topcatmodel.co.nz/finalist_darwin.html I still have some modelling challenges to complete - starting sometime this week - so you can see how I would be as a top model. Mum hooman has finished putting together my Vote for Me video which is now on my voting page. I'd like to say a special thank you to everyone who has donated to my page so far! *snuggles computer* I even see that someone left a donation earlier today! There will be a lot of happy kitties once all of this money is put through to the SPCA and the Wellington Cats Protection League. CATch you later!

      5 July 2010

*swats piece of dust* Only a week to go until the fundraising ends and the finalists are announced! I'm not quite in the top 5 kittens at the moment, though I am still close. If you are able and you think I am a worthy contender, please donate through this page. It all goes to two good causes! As well as helping me get closer to a spot in the grand finals. AND I am a finalist for Challenge #4 - Strutting the Catwalk. You can vote for me here. Mum hooman baked more cupcakes which sold like..er...hotcakes at work today. Even quicker than the first lot. She tells me she wishes she had baked more! Looking forward to working on my last challenge. It has something to do with noms, which is my favourite thing. Bring it on! *licks paw*

      26 June 2010

A very rainy, windy cold day today. Purrrfect for snuggling up on the bed with hooman who was feeling a tad under the weather. I thought I'd press on her tummy just to remind her I was there. She didn't seem to appreciate it much... I am so very excited about my fantastic fundraising total of $320 so far! I'm now one of the top 5 fundraising kittens! meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow!

Mum hooman made some pawprint cupcakes and managed to sell them all yesterday to her workmates (and maybe one to dad hooman who can't resist a tasty treat). Thank you to the kind people at her work for being so generous with their donations! More money for needy kitties! *scratches carpet in excitement oops sorry...I meant the cardboard scratch pad*)

Meow! I was uber excited to be picked as a finalist for challenge number 1! And now I'm getting ready for my next photoshoot challenge. This time I have to strut my stuff outside. I hope the weather is up to it because I won't be happy if I have to get my paws wet! Righto, I'd better get back to studying (ie. snuggling with mum on the couch in front of America's Next Top Model). Purr purr...headboof

      14 June 2010

Thank you so much to the 2 mystery people who donated a total of $50 the?other day (Kitty o' th' day Day). Big fat purrs to you and a cheek rub! Purrrrrrrrrr. Uncle Marc and Aunty Natalia are doing a fine job of looking after me at the moment. Mum says she is going to do some cupcake baking soon to help me with my fundraising. We are just deciding on flavours. I think fish and?cat biscuit flavoured cupcakes would be top sellers!

Hmmm... something's up. Mum keeps looking at me and I instinctively duck away. I know that she knows that I know that I'm in for a defleaing very, very soon. Can I hide at your house? And before I hide - $100 raised! Purr purr purr. Perhaps I will make it to the front page of the Topcat website if I'm very lucky!

Woohoo $20 so far! Thanks lovely people! After today's excitement of another donation and Grocery Day, I am now off for a nana nap with dad. It's much too cold and rainy to go outside. Big sister Meg loves the rain, but I do not.

  • Darwin's update for 06/06/2010

      6 June 2010

Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read this page and especially to anyone who donates towards my two very worthy causes - the SPCA and Wellington Cats Protection League. I thought I'd give everyone a little more information about moi because the 60 words I was allowed in the main write up was clearly not enough space. I'm a 5 and a half year old spotty brown Bengal boy. I am very nearly the loooongest cat in the world as well as the most sensitive. A morningfs activity usually involves: 5am-6am: Prod mum in the face with my claws until she wakes up. If she does not wake up the first time, I then jump down and start scratching the walls. If this does not awaken her I will then chew the top of her drink bottle loudly and crunchily until she climbs out of bed to feed meh. But secretly, itfs not even the food I care about. I just want to wake her up and let her know I'm here and to get the heck up and entertain me. 7.30am: Shower time! My favourite time of the day! I sit patiently on the bathmat and then once I have the attention I desire itfs up onto the basin I jump ready for one of the humans to turn on the tap so I can drink the water (NB: water only tastes good from taps and puddles). If the human turns their back for a second I will use this opportunity to leap gracefully onto (read: fling 7kg body at) their unsuspecting shoulder. 8am: General following and overseeing of morning proceedings. A quick check of the neighbourfs house from on top of the heater and the other neighbourfs house (and chickens) from the bedroom window. Once Ifve packed the humans off to work Ifm off the clock and itfs me time for rest of the day. Stay tuned for more exciting updates of the adventures of meeeeeeee!
