I have been involved to help raise money for this worthy charity for over 11 years.
Queenstown, Otago
This photo is of my wife, Joanne who used the Otago and Southland Rescue Helicopter Service twice over a two year period. Both trips saved her life and provided her with extra time to enjoy her family and friends. Unfortunately she passed on the 23rd March 2024 so I am not only riding my 11th ride on Friday the 8th of May to raise funds for such a worthy cause but also in honour of Joanne my wife.
Please share this link to as many people as possible - Thank - you.
The day of the Ride 28 May 2026
I can't believe it is almost three weeks from the day of the ride. I have had issues to create an update on my Givealittle page and catching up on a busy work commitments but all sorted now. The weather app had predicted enduring rain mid afternoon and it looked pretty heavy but we didn't receive any rain until around 15 minutes after arriving in Invercargill. Also we had no wind but we did have damp fog for quite a period going through Riversdale but all in all it was a great ride, our longest one yet. It is truly inspiring when arriving at the schools with the incredible welcome that awaits us in each of them and that is one of the many reasons it keeps me coming back. Finally I would like to thank all those who have supported this worthy cause, you are all champions. For those who feel they have missed the opportunity to donate please be aware that donations are still accepted via my Givealittle page until the 31st July 2026.
Please see the photo below with me and the three celebrities : Paddy Gower, Brook MacDonald and Sarah Cowley-Ross.
The Chopper Bike Ride is back for its 15th year – and we need your support to make it the biggest one yet.
