I'm raising money for EDANZ, who provide hope, information, support and resources to people supporting a loved one with an eating disorder.

Wellington

For my birthday fundraiser I'm raising money for Eating Disorder Association New Zealand. There is a huge lack of funding for eating disorder services in New Zealand, which means that there is an extremely long wait time for people to gain access to support. Eating disorders are complex and difficult to treat, with the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. But there is hope: eating disorders are treatable and full recovery is possible. The earlier on that someone receives help, the higher their chance of recovery.

If you’d like to help, feel free to make a donation!

About EDANZ: https://www.ed.org.nz/

EDANZ provides hope, information, support and resources to people supporting a loved one with an eating disorder.

We're a registered charity run by volunteers, we all have personal experience in the process of recovery from an eating disorder - either as parents, caregivers or recovered patients. Our focus is on improving the outcomes for people with eating disorders and their families. Alongside our education and support work, we also advocate for social and governmental change. We are the only organisation of our kind in New Zealand and we rely solely on donations and grants.

This is a cause that I am extremely passionate about due to personal struggle as well as witnessing many people in my life go through similar experiences.
