Helping NZ's wonderful alpine parrot, the kea, by raising funds to pay for removal of harmful lead from old buildings.

I'm raising funds to help our amazing alpine parrot, the kea. Kea are fabulously curious, but sometimes it gets them into trouble. They like to eat the lead from buildings (old huts, farm buildings, etc) - it tastes nice to them - but it is very bad for them - it affects their nervous systems, damages their organs, and can often be fatal.
Kea Conservation Trust are removing lead from buildings to protect kea. It costs an average of around $2,600 to remove lead from a building and replace it with kea-safe materials. I'm aiming to raise that amount by July 2027 - my next birthday. Please donate what you can to my page - your money will go directly to the Kea Conservation Trust, who will use it to protect kea by removing lead from buildings.
Thank you.
