Eleanor's Fit to Fight Challenge 2021

MAUI63 have developed an AI-powered tracking drone to autonomously find, follow, and uniquely identify Māui and Hector's dolphins. Identifying, tracking and learning more about Maui dolphins (a critically endangered species native to New Zealand) will enable us to better protect them and hopefully grow their numbers (only ~60 dolphins left).

The biggest threats to this species are location-related. By identifying individual dolphins, knowing where they are and when they are there, decisions can be made to protect them from fishing, climate change, toxoplasmosis and other mishaps. It will help tremendously to halt the decline towards extinction.​

Over 8 weeks, I'll be taking part in the 'Fit to Fight' challenge, training like a boxer and raising funds for MAUI63, before putting everything to the test in a final body-sparring event.
