Fundraising for Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust - Canterbury
Canterbury
Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust (LFBIT) is a local, independent charity providing specialised assessment, rehabilitation and support services for people with a brain, spinal or other complex injury. Because brain injuries can make even basic thoughts and actions difficult, our services are all about equipping our clients and their families and whānau to find new ways of going about life so they can achieve independence, inclusion and quality of life.
At any one-time LFBIT may be supporting over 1000 Cantabrians by providing a continuum of integrated services, carried out by a highly skilled interdisciplinary team of over 220 specialised staff.
All funds raised from Elmer’s Ōtautahi Elephant Trail will be used to build a new campus for LFBIT. Our services are in demand more than ever and our facilities and residential accommodation options are no longer fit for purpose. Our new campus will enable us to deliver all of our services from the same place, and help more people affected by traumatic brain injury or other complex injuries.
Elmer is a vibrant, multi-coloured elephant who lives happily among a grey herd.
The Elmer series of books promote positive messages about inclusivity, kindness, compassion, friendship and celebrate diversity, being different and being tolerant to yourself and others. These values are a perfect match for the ones we at Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust hold dear.
We are still Fundraising! 8 February 2024
The sculptures on Elmer's Ōtautahi Elephant Trail are still on the streets until the 19th February. We then will have all the sculptures on display at our Farewell Weekend at this Christchurch Art Gallery. This takes place on the 2nd and 3rd of March and is the perfect opportunity to see all of the sculptures before they are auctioned off to their forever homes.
