Hello,

My name is Grace and I'm taking part in a charity fight night to fundraise for a charity of my choice.

The charity that I am supporting is Brake, which is a road safety charity. I’ve chosen Brake because of the number of deaths and serious injuries on New Zealand roads, leaving bereaved families all over the country, and I want to help change that. In 2018 alone, there were 377 deaths, and many many more people were left critically injured. Brake is a national charity that works to prevent road deaths and injuries, make communities safer, and provide free support to bereaved families. Choosing Brake as my charity to support was an easy decision as I considered the effect that unsafe roads can have on individuals and families. I want to do what I can in a bid to decrease the number of deaths on our roads and their devastating consequences to families.
