Fundraising for Camp Quality.

Camp Quality New Zealand is the only charity in Aotearoa New Zealand that provides camps for children & young people living with cancer.

Camp Quality brings fun, hope and happiness into the lives of children living with cancer – inspiring them to be kids again.

In 2024 after finding a lump under my arm scans revealed that I had cancer with 30 tumours throughout my body. But instead of slowing down, I laced up my running shoes.

I started my immunotherapy treatment on a Friday and the very next day I ran in a 10-kilometre running event.

This year I have set myself a goal - to walk and run more than 300 kilometres across a range of endurance events, including all 10 races in the nationwide Aramex Walk + Run Series which makes up 107 kilometres of the total.

If I can use something that helps me … running and walking, to raise money and awareness for my chosen charity, then that makes every kilometre even more meaningful.”

When you’re dealing with cancer it’s very easy to feel isolated. But these events are incredibly supportive. I hope my challenge will encourage others facing difficult circumstances to keep moving in whatever way they can.
