Join me on my birthday! Help spread the gospel to 'unreached' people, disciple new believers and equip church-leaders in rural Mongolia!
Auckland
There are hundreds of isolated towns in rural Mongolia, filled with people who have never heard about Jesus. But God is doing an incredible work in this nation through his faithful followers, and you can be part of it!
I wanted to use my birthday as an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the incredible work of Asian Outreach Mongolia. This organisation leads church-planting teams across the rugged countryside to launch and support new churches, thousands of kilometres away. They are committed to reaching the ‘unreached’ and making disciples in their own nation. They make huge sacrifices of time and energy for the sake of the gospel, so will you join me in partnering with them, as a way of fulfilling the Great Commission?
After 65 years of communist rule, Christian missionaries entered Mongolia in 1991 and discovered only around 4 Christians in the entire land. Fast forward to now and there are around 70,000, but most of them are in the capital city (Ulaanbaatar). In 2019 Asian Outreach NZ fundraised for a 4WD vehicle to be used as a mission-vehicle by church-planters from Ulaanbaatar. These devoted followers of Jesus leave their families behind for weeks at a time and prioritise their calling to help spread the gospel message across their entire country. There are costs associated with their travel, vehicle maintenance and training and resourcing church-leaders.
Mongolian people are responding with open hearts to Jesus' love. Take the small house-church in the far-flung province of Khovd, for example. Around 18 adults and 20 children from the 'worst' street in the town, regularly crowd together in Bayanmunkh and Bolormaa's ger (tent-home) for prayer, praise and discipleship. This former-alcoholic couple had their lives transformed when Asian Outreach staff travelled 1,500km to their home, offered their children warm clothing for the winter and shared the gospel with them. They told all their friends and family-members about their newfound hope in Jesus. Now the walls are plastered with the lyrics of worship songs and Bayanmunkh and Bolormaa are the hosts of a thriving home-church.
I hope you’ll join me on my birthday in supporting the amazing work God is doing through his people to build up the church of Mongolia!
