24 hour run from He Ara Kotahi to Fitzherbert Bridge, in gumboots, in support of I AM HOPE and Gumboot Friday.
Manawatu / Whanganui
In support of I AM HOPE, I will be doing laps of He Ara Kotahi to Fitzherbert Bridge for 24 hours straight, in my gumboots, to raise awareness and money for Gumboot Friday. 🏃🏼♂️
I AM HOPE is an initiative by The Key to Life Charitable Trust, a fundraising and advocacy organisation, which supports young people who are struggling with their mental health. As many of you may know, these matters are very close to my heart. All donations go straight towards providing kids with FREE access to counselling. 🤝
We will need a dedicated, loud support crew, so whether you’re up for one lap, two laps or the whole 24 hours, join us anytime from 12pm Friday 28th May until 12pm Saturday 29th May at He Ara Kotahi, and BRING YOUR GUMBOOTS! 👣
In 2020, 137 young people died by suicide in New Zealand and it's estimated 3,500 attempted to take their own lives. While government agencies are doing their best, some kids are waiting up to six months to receive the counselling they urgently need.
Thankyou kind people 6 June 2021

I just wanted to say thankyou to everyone who donated to the bridge 2 bridge freedom run for gumboot Friday.
Together we raised $13,370.05
That means we provided 108 counselling sessions for kids to access. Nationwide.
The donations poured in, and it is very heartwarming to know so many care for mental health and for kids to have access to counselling.
Together we got conversations going! Thankyou.
I ask one more thing. Challenge the government, why do they not fund counselling for kids nationwide?
