FreeUp’s 60km Trail Run for Arthritis NZ

  • I'm running 60km through the trails and still have a long way to go #ultramarathon #running #charity

      14 October 2026

Tracking my progress through a charity run for Arthritis NZ. See how I navigated the ups and downs over several months.

This video is a raw log of my recent experience documenting a charity run for Arthritis NZ. Spanning across July and October 2026, I tracked my movement and milestones to stay accountable to the bigger goal. It is a candid look at the reality of keeping up with a fitness challenge when your body does not always cooperate.

Whether you are interested in long-distance running or just trying to stay active while managing health setbacks, this journey highlights the persistence required to keep moving forward. I share what it takes to balance consistent endurance training with the demands of daily life, offering an honest perspective on the process rather than a highlight reel.

A quick update on my running recovery after a painful setback. I am working through a foot injury to get back on the trails.

I have been busy editing some older footage while I wait for my body to heal. Getting my foot too close to a rock during a recent outing caused more damage than I initially realised, forcing a temporary pause on my training. It has been a frustrating process, but I am focused on the long-term goal of getting back to my routine.

I am currently targeting the end of July to resume my charity run efforts. Navigating the balance between endurance training and physical limitations is never easy, but I am keeping my spirits up while I rest. Thanks for sticking around as I piece these updates together.

Running with arthritis is a test of patience and persistence.

I tackled an 8km run today despite the stiffness, proving that even on bad weather days, movement is key to managing chronic joint pain. This is just a raw look at how I keep active while balancing my physical limitations.

  • The brutal reality of getting back into long-distance running #training #shorts

      29 September 2026

Returning to long-distance running after injury is a massive challenge.

I recently tackled a 48km ultra-trail run to test my limits and raise funds for Arthritis NZ. It wasn't pretty—cramps forced me to walk parts of the course—but it was a crucial step in my recovery journey.

  • My battle with chronic pain and how you can help #nzbusiness #chronicpain

      29 September 2026

Dealing with chronic back pain management while trying to stay active and run a business. My personal journey with physical health.

I run Free Up, which provides chartered accounting services for non-profits and charities in New Zealand. Balancing the demands of running a business often means I am constantly on the go, but for the last five years, that activity has been hindered by persistent discomfort. I am sharing my recent experience with joint pain to offer some perspective on what it is like to manage physical health alongside professional commitments.

This is not a medical guide, but rather an honest look at how I have been navigating these challenges over the last few months. If you are also balancing physical limitations with a busy career, I would love to hear your experiences in the comments below.
