Friends Around the Globe - September Challenge 2024

This September, Friends Around the Globe will be walking with a purpose raising funds to make a significant and lifesaving difference in the lives of others.

Currently Fountain of Peace Children's Foundation have submissions for ten much needed spring-wells in the impoverished Kyenjojo district of Uganda where Fountain of Peace is working. These submissions are from communities where around 50 families in each community walk long distances to collect their water for drinking, cooking and cleaning from dirty water sources creating large risk for water borne diseases.

Each spring-well is budgeted to cost $6,500, and includes the construction of steps down to it. Friends Around the Globe are wanting to help raise the funds for as many of these spring-wells as possible to help as many families as possible.

Participants who register to take part in this event, will be joining our Friends Around the Globe and setting out to walk or run as many kilometres as possible each week which will be added to a collective running total. Together our goal is to see how many times we can walk the length of New Zealand, following the Te Araroa Trail, a total of 3,012 km.
