From Wreck to Resilience: Running the World in Two Halves for two amazing charities

Whangarei, Northland

In 2018, a serious car accident in NZ left my body broken. My beautiful partner died and my children were injured and traumatised far from home.

The emergency services, hospital staff, friends, family and complete strangers took great care of us all.

Recovery has taken years but in 2024 I managed to row a marathon, but even then running 6 steps was so painful.

But thanks to the love and support from 2 nations, and hours of continued training I feel strong and ready for my next challenge.

In 2026, I plan to run 1 marathon in two half's, 1 half in England and the other in New Zealand to raise funds for the air ambulance services that save lives every day in both countries.

Whilst we didnt use this vital service that awful day I fully appreciate the lifesaving work they do. For days I laid in hospital listening to the helicopter bringing more casualties to safety.

Support my journey and donate to keep these vital services flying.

Every step matters.

Thank you ❤️

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
