Fundraising for 100 Wild Kaimanawa Horses. 100 Days. 100 Lives Saved.
Nationwide
As you may have heard (because we absolutely won’t stop talking about it), Abby and Mikaele are running a half-marathon! 🏃♀️🏃♂️ But we’re not just doing it for the blisters and the glory — we’re running to save wild horses.
The same weekend we race, hundreds of Kaimanawa horses — a cherished herd of wild horses in New Zealand whose name means “wind eaters” in Māori — are being rounded up and removed from their natural home. Without enough funding for rehoming and training, many of these spirited and precious animals face being culled.
But here’s the hopeful part: every $1000 NZD raised saves the life of one horse.
We’re running to save TWO (one for each of us)!
Our goal is to raise $2000 NZD (around $1160 USD) — enough to give two wild Kaimanawa horses a second chance at life. If you’re able to donate, we’d be beyond grateful. Every contribution brings us closer to crossing both finish lines: the race and the rescue.
Thank you for being part of this with us. You’re a true lifesaver. 💛🐎
