    What a day on the maunga last Saturday. Ended up smashing the goal time of 8-9 hours coming in at 7 hrs 23 mins. Kudos to Big Stu's kidney for filtering blood like a champ (I must've gotten the good one, sorry Dad). The race was really enjoyable apart from approx. 38-45km where I wanted to keel over and die.

    Huge appreciation to everyone who donated, we ended up raising over $3,000 for Kidney Kids NZ which is amazing!

    Kia ora all,

    6 days to go until the big race! Apologies for the lack of updates, I'm a useless marketeer!

    Unfortunately Lachie picked up a knee injury a few weeks ago and can no longer do the race. I'm still going ahead, just minus 1 No. brother and 1 No. bungy chord.

    Overall the body is feeling pretty good and I have noticed the fitness improving over the past few weeks. My training has typically comprised 2-3 short runs (30-60 mins) during the week and one longer run in the weekend (1.5-3.5hr). The mind is strong as. Can't wait for a massive bucket of KFC afterwards.
