The Sumner Surf Life Saving has a strong relationship in the community with a strong commitment to Patrolling, Surf Sport, and Junior Coaching (7 yrs - 14yrs).

Recently winning Canterbury Surf Life Saving Club of the Year!

The new building will bring great excitement, excitement to the Members, Canterbury and the Sumner Community.

Junior Surf Life Savers travel to competitions positioned at Canterbury beaches, pools champs within the South Island and the main event is based in the (North Island) February 2016. Every coach is voluntary and we take great pride in training the children during the week and on a Sunday morning from November to the end of March.

We are seeking funds to attend events and equipment to support the disciplined lifeguard training.

Our Junior programme makes a difference by providing a safe fun and learning environment for our kids that ranges from 7-14 years of age. We do this by empowering the kids to take on responsibility, to respect this environment and by providing a high level of coaching and having up to date equipment for the athletes to improve their skills
