#goelias - Paying it forward to Ronald McDonald House Charities NZ

Hi there!

We're Kurt and Becca Buchanan and we'd love your help! In December 2017 - January 2018 we were on the recieving end of the support Ronald McDonald House Charities provide families every year. Matter of fact they provide that same support to around 3,700 families each year.

Our beautiful son, Elias Kingston Hayes Buchanan, sadly passed away on January 4th 2018. The two weeks prior was a rollercoaster of emtions and stresses. My wife was three months pregnant with our 5th child, we had our other three children to consider and the daily toll it took on us seeing our son fighting for his life was a lot. RMHC provided accommodation FREE of charge, full use of its incredible facilities, a full Christmas Brunch on Christmas day, presents for our children and care packages for me and Becca. To say this took a huge pressure off our shoulders would be a big understatement.

So to give back we're asking our family and friends, and friends of friends or anyone who was touched by our son's story to sponsor us on a Half Marathon. We are hoping to get as many of our family and friends running on the day to clock in as many collective kms as we can. All proceeds going to Ronald McDonald Charities New Zealand in their ongoing support of families across New Zealand and a broad.
