Little Bear's big hair - cut!
Queenstown, Otago
Mr Bear with all the hair!
He's always had lots and we've never pushed him to cut his beautiful hair because we love it! However, it's now getting to quite an unmanageable stage (and a full time job for me) so Bear has agreed that he will have a 'big trim'!
To make the 'big trim' worthwhile and not waste his gorgeous locks, he's decided he will cut enough off so it can be donated to a wig charity - Freedom Hair makes wigs for children with cancer and the requirement is 35.5cm - as well as raise money for a cause close to our hearts.
As many of you know, we lost our second son Rua before we had our rainbow baby Bear. He had a genetic disorder called Tubuerous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) alongside huge tumours in his heart, which signposted this rare disorder at the start of our journey.
When we began discussing Bears haircut, quite a few friends mentioned a fundraiser, and although he isn't shaving his whole head of hair off - we think its quite a significant amount for our little 4 year old to part with! It's also given Bear a sense of pride knowing what he is doing is helping others - especially people like his big brother in heaven!
We aren't trying to hit a specific target, this incredible charity is one of many rare disorder charities run by volunteers who have a personal connection to TSC, so the more we raise, the better!
Bear would be very grateful, as would we, if you could spare any amount towards his big hair cut!
Thank you for reading this far and supporting our little Bear!
