Grace and Joseph's Half Marathon for our Nanny

Dunedin, Otago

Earlier in March this year, our grandmother Jill Cumming passed away due to cancer. Our "Nanny" was an amazing person who meant the absolute world to us. Growing up, she was heavily involved in our lives, something for which we were and will always be thankful. As kids, she and our grandad cared for us every school holiday and were on the sidelines at every sporting event us grandkids played. She would provide breakfast, lunch, or dinner in Pareora anytime we drove through on our way to and from university in Dunedin, welcoming any friends we would bring along the way. These were just a couple of the many amazing things she did to love and support us growing up, and we miss her being with us every day.

Before our grandmother passed, she was surrounded by family and cared for at the South Canterbury Hospice. The hospice provided amazing care and support not only for our grandmother but also for the rest of our family during a very difficult time.

We have decided to run the Dunedin half marathon in her memory. In doing so, we will be fundraising for the South Canterbury Hospice. Any donations made will be greatly appreciated and will help express our gratitude towards the hospice, knowing it will help others receive the amazing care that our Nanny did.
