Hello lovely people, hope your winter is going well wherever you may be! We have been very slack with our updates as there has been so much going on here at HAA headquarters. Where to start... We have moved to Leg-Up Trust, who kindly offered us to stay there until we leave. This means we can save a lot more money to fund the ride than before and we can volunteer for them more often. We are living in a tiny campervan parked in a paddock, which is pretty entertaining. There's not even enough room in it for both of us to stand up at the same time! We are living on $50 food per week too, luckily we are vegetarians. We have found grazing right next door and our horses are loving it there. We wrote a four page sponsorship proposal which took ages to perfect and have sent it to a few companies but so far no bites We have just been to Auckland to drop Forest off at his Nana's place for safe keeping until he can join us on our ride. So sad to lose our favorite mascot but its the best thing for him. We are starting to have mini panic attacks when we realise its only THREE MONTHS til we leave again and we have soooooooo much to do by then! There's China's training to finish, hobble and tether training the horses, practice treks to do, saddlebag reinforcing to do, money to earn, our website to build, various gear to buy/beg/borrow like a tethering picket, rain coats and pants, a sleeping bag, lighter saddles, a power bank for charging electronics, a go pro, a smartphone, walking boots... eeek!! Somehow don't think we'll be sleeping much in the next 3 months. Wish us luck! Love Kendall and Larissa
