Shaving my head of hair for NZ Alopecia!

Christchurch, Canterbury

Righto team! Hair has gone!!! Posting to Freedom Hair today! I had lots more than required so ended up with a very short do and a bit of a mohawk (swoon!) thank you so much for all of your support and your donations. Thank you to Alopecia NZ!! I know how much they appreciate the our fundraising efforts xxxx

For some reason I’ve been given a glorious mane of ridiculously curly/kinky hair that is neither ginger nor blond. Whether this is a blessing of being a Leo or because I’m a gin swilling potty mouthed tomboy we don’t know - but this crop of hair is going! After growing the required length, it’s now time for my luscious locks to meet their fate with Mr Wahl himself. It’s been three years of trying every trick in the book to grow healthy hair with investments in Olaplex and various other hair companies who have produced various remedy’s including hair masks (#obsessed), me learning about hair tie fatigue (it’s a thing!) and being whipped by the mane when trying to perfect the selfie! My chosen charity - NZ Alopecia is a non profit organisation that 100% relies on donations. The trust has a camp for kids and youth alike who experience hair loss and alopecia – your donation is going to go towards their camp funds, so parents don’t have to dig so deep that’s your job! Freedom Hair who receive my hair, will then make decide if my hair is nice enough to make a wig out of. Every little bit helps and I look forward to trying out some new shorter hair styles!

We do not have a specific relationship with NZ Alopecia but we have all had friends who have had medically induced hair loss and our daughters bestie had patches of alopecia for years.
