Fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis Auckland
Auckland
One of my New Years resolution was to throw myself completely out of my comfort zone, so when I discovered my good friend Lauren, was doing a half marathon naturally I saw this as the perfect opportunity.
My dad was an incredible human and struggled with Primary Progressive MS for a long as I can remember. He unfortunately did not get the chance to come all the way to NZ, but on our daily calls he would always say "Claire, you know you can always come home. Don't forget that, and never worry about the cost'', which has always stuck with me. It is true to say that my dad was one of the most generous people I know, and he never let his condition hold him back even at his very lowest. He was also a proud member of the MS Society back in the UK, and would always joke about collecting twice as much as my mother who also shook her tin at Christmas alongside him.
I know if my dad was here today he would be just as passionate about advocating for the cause here in NZ as he was in the UK.
On the 14th May I will be running a half marathon in Hawkes Bay and raising money for the incredible Multiple Sclerosis Society, so that they can continue to provide support around Auckland.
Thanks for the awesome support! 21 January 2022
I can’t believe how close I am to $1000! I am so grateful for all of the support so I am now pushing the target out a wee bit 😊
