Hamiora Skipwith run for sands bop
Bay of Plenty
Kia ora whānau, friends and community :)
My name is Aria, I am a mum of 4 boys from Rotorua.
In September 2013, we sadly lost one of our twin boys, Arama, due to complications in utero that affected his kidneys.
Through this ordeal we were very fortunate to have the help of SANDS BOP who came to the hospital and helped us by providing support and special keepsakes of our baby.
Though this was a very rough time and a lot of my memory is still a blur from what we went through, I am thankful everyday for the memories we have of our sweet boy thanks to Sands.
We would like to tautoko Sands by raising money to help them help other families, because sadly there are others that need their support.
Hamiora is participating in the 2km kids dash at the beginning of the Podium half marathon on the 26th of November 2017. We would like to use this as an opportunity to ask our whānau, friends and any members of the community that would like to sponsor Hamiora by donating a small amount of money to Sands BAy of plenty.
All money raised will go directly to Sands and I will keep Hamiora updated with what has been raised through this page :)
Sands Bay of Plenty is a parent-run voluntary non-profit organisation and registered charity which has been set up to support parents and families who have experienced the death of a baby.
We offer:
Support - in hospital or after care
One on One Support
Phone Support
A Library with books you are welcome to borrow
A Baby Loss Awareness Day memorial service that you and family/friends are welcome to attend
Sands Bay of Plenty offers support in Tauranga for families of babies who have died at the time of their loss and for the years to come.
Your help and support with this is really appreciated.
We have decided to donate to SANDS BOP as they are the charity that helped us through a sad time of losing our son Arama. Hamiora and I decided together it would be a nice way to give back to others that may need the same support we did when we went through a sad time.
