Running the Auckland Marathon to raise awareness of Parkinson's Disease in NZ and to raise money for Cure Parkinson's NZ.
Hamilton, Waikato
Parkinson's Disease is the fasting growing neurodegenerative disease in the world, affecting over 12,000 New Zealanders. In October 2023 I will be running the Auckland Marathon to raise awareness of Parkinson's Disease in New Zealand and to help raise money for Cure Parkinson's NZ. Cure Parkinson's NZ is a fantastic local charity that are determined to find a cure to stop Parkinson's for good!
This is a cause close to my heart as my father has Parkinson's Disease and I also work with a number of the Parkinson's community in Hamilton as a physiotherapist. Before signing up for the Auckland Marathon the furthest I had run was 5km so this is definitely a challenge for me - but bring it on!
Cure Parkinson's NZ is a great local charity that I closely align my goals with regarding Parkinson's research.
Thank you for the support! 6 November 2023
A massive thank you to all those who donated to the cause! All the support I've received has really helped with training and getting across the finish line. Your contribution has helped a very worthy cause that affects so many New Zealanders - so thank you!!!!!!
