Help Jules in her battle with Melanoma

  • Many thanks to all

      2 February 2019

In July I set up a Give a little page to help my sister Julia pay for the cost of much need drug, Keytruda to help her battle with a rare melanoma. The total cost of the the 17 infusions is $83k. At the end of last month we closed the page off with a staggering $58,384 of donations. This was way in excess of our expectations. To all of you who donated a huge thanks.

The giving came from such a wide source of people its was indeed very humbling. Julia's family and that family's friends, relatives and their work mates. Her own work, their staff and their colleagues, her friends both old and new, the Dugdale Foundation,Chief's Rugby Players, and people who she has have meet. The geographical spread was from near and far and right across the globe.

New Zealanders & people in general are truely giving and generous.

Yesterday Julia had her 9th Infusion so over 50% there. To date except for some minor side effects all is going well, with medical reports being positive. once again a big thanks to you all not only for the financial assistance but the moral support & your genuine kindness, its been overwhelming

  • Progress Report

      2 October 2018

    Hi All

Jules had her fourth infusion last week & everything seems to be going well. She experienced nausea after the first 3 infusions for a week or so but limited side effects after the last one.

The financial & moral support from you all has been overwhelming. Julia & her family are just so appreciative. In times like these you realise what such a caring and giving country we live in. It's not fair to single people out however Julia would like to make special mention to the owners, managers & staff at Mitre 10 where she works. They have been awesome. Ran a huge quiz fund raising night [high 5s to Todd here] plus have just being such great employees & work mates in so many positive ways.

Will keep you updated by way of these posts. Once again thanks for your kindness.

    Dave Fredericks

      23 July 2018

A relation of our late mothers contact us to offer to help the cause. They are Warwick & Chris Dugdale & they have a registered charitable trust. All donations will be paid into this trust & then on to Julia. The trust will also pay an fees & the 5% admin cost so she will get 100% of your generosity Brilliant.

Also the tax receipts are back dated so anyone who has already donated you will receive a new receipt. These went out today.
