Life is challenging for those living with disability and/or illness - Help lighten the load.
Nationwide
Our family of five love the outdoors and all the experiences that go with it. We thought our adventures had come to an abrupt end when we were told our son Hunter had Cerebral Palsy. Although things are more challenging, we have adapted and focused on what we can do and not what we can't do. With our adventures mainly featuring me carrying Hunter, due to his Right Hemiplegia being a challenge for him, I've accidentally got fitter. I thought I'd utalise my energies to complete the Coast-to-Coast challenge for gut cancer (the second most common cancer in New Zealand) in March 2023. During the challenge I will traverse by bike, hike and raft 243km across the South Island from the West Coast to Christchurch in the East.
Also, with COVID, my hair sort of got accidentally realllllly long, so I decided to do something meaningful with it and have a 'Haircut for Hunter' to raise funds for others living with the challenges of Cerebral Palsy (I'm too chicken to shave it). The hair will be donated to a Dunedin company who use the hair to make wigs for kids with cancer and alopecia.
Help me turn two of my best accidents (not you Hunter) into funding for those who live daily with the challenges of Cerebral Palsy and provide funding for Gut Cancer Research.
If you prefer to donate directly to the Gut cancer foundation, you can follow the link (coast-to-coast-challenge.raisely.com/cathy-simpson) to my sponsorship page.
Thank you for your donations and support.
Many thanks
