Help Make A Difference In A Child's Life !!!

I would like to raise awareness and money for True Colours because I know the importance of having a support system in place during a time of uncertainty.

The dedicated and compassionate team at True Colours ensure's that the right mix of care is provided to support children and families through the difficulties of a chronic, life-limiting or life-threatening illness.

At the age of 12, my sister got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes through no fault of her own. In a matter of minutes her life changed completely and she had no control over of what was about to happen. As a family we didn't know what to do or say as this was unknown territory for us too. My sister and us were fortunate enough to have an amazing support system in place including; doctors, friends, family and a church community supporting her. Whilst in hospital she read up on her new diagnoses and when the doctors came in to further explain things to her, she knew what they were talking about.

Unfortunately for most families in New Zealand, they don't have a support system or a very limited support system. Some are single parents or others have to resign from their jobs to sit next to their children's hospital bed and they lose grip of other parts of their lives.

As adults we sometimes struggle to make sense of our emotions and changes happening in lives, so imagine how a young child must feel trying to make sense of something that turns their lives upside down.

True Colours provide's a variety of support for children, siblings, parents including; counselling, play & art therapy, specialist clinical and emotional support.

True Colours have helped over 2000 families the past 15 years throughout the Waikato Region. Your support means that they are able to provide a free service to these families as they try to cope with great uncertainty and stress.
