Help Tash Spread Awareness For Endometriosis
Mount Maunganui, Tauranga
Endometriosis is a common inflammatory disease estimated to affect 176 million individuals worldwide in their reproductive years, and 120,000 in New Zealand.
As a fellow endo warrior I have chosen to do this challenge to help raise awareness for this wonderful charity that work hard to provide helpful information and support to those that suffer with this disease.
I found out I had endometriosis after eventually having key hole surgery to check my pelvic area. Like many, I had to jump through hoops to figure out what was going on. I had all of the symptoms; painful heavy periods, painful sex, pain during intense exercise, IBS, infertility, you name it, I had it. Fast forward a couple of years…I had my surgery and I finally felt like a normal person again! I could go to the gym and train without pain. I could also go to work during my period without feeling like I was going to bleed through my pants. I fell pregnant 🥹 everything fell into place.
I have only recently got my period back afree having Summer (15 mths old) and it’s come back with a vengeance. Many of my endometriosis symptoms sadly have returned and quite possibly, it has come back. This time I don’t feel confused and angry at my body. This time, I know how to help my symptoms and what my options are.
Help me to spread the awareness, to help other women 🩷
