A challenge to see who can out-step and fundraise more than the others. Funds will go to Diabetes NZ to support those affected by diabetes.
Nationwide
265,000 people in New Zealand have diabetes and another 1 in 4 are estimated to have pre-diabetes. Both diet and exercise are fundamental in helping to control both type 1 and type 2 diabetes and prevent or delay type 2.
In the Diabetes NZ Fitbit MoveMeant Challenge, business leaders and public personalities will compete against each other to see who can out-step and fundraise more than the others, to win the inaugural bragging rights as champion fundraising star.
Funds raised will go directly to Diabetes New Zealand to the work they do to support all those affected by diabetes..
We have been involved with Diabetes NZ through a number of the Foundations managed by Perpetual Guardian. Through this I became aware that 1 in every 4 Kiwis have diabetes. In many cases, changes in lifestyle can significantly reduce the risk of becoming diabetic. I am part of this challenge not only to raise money, but also awareness that exercise helps!!
