Running 24 hours around Blue Lake to raise awareness and funds for youth mental health. Every step counts toward hope and healing. 💛
Auckland
I’m running for 24 hours to support YIT - a local charity helping young people get back into a life worth living.
New Zealand is facing a youth mental health crisis, with suicide rates among the highest in the world. Youth in Transition (YIT) supports young people aged 10 to 24 who are struggling with mental health challenges.
Since 2014, they’ve supported 900 young people, and in the past year alone have delivered 6,071 hours of fully funded counselling - made possible entirely through community support.
Their mission is simple but powerful:
"No young person should ever be turned away from getting the help they need because of financial hardship."
As someone who has faced my own mental health battles & now works in the space of mental skills & wellbeing, this cause is deeply personal to me. I know how life-changing the right support at the right time can be - & how crucial it is for our youth to know they’re not alone.
On Sept 27–28, I’ll take on the 24-Hour Blue Lake Challenge - running (or moving!) around Rotorua’s Blue Lake for a full 24 hours to raise funds & awareness for YIT. My goal is to go further than I ever have before - physically, mentally & emotionally - to support this incredible charity.
If you feel called to contribute, please donate what you can. Every dollar goes directly to YIT to fund counselling, cover costs & reach more youth in need.
Let’s help them keep doing what they do best - saving lives & giving hope.
Thank you for your support 💛
Raising the bar again!!! 24 September 2025
Thank you everyone! We smashed past the goal of $3000, now lets see if we can get to $4000. Every bit goes to help our youth in need learn the tools they need to so they can get back to a life worth living and not go through life feeling like they are a prisoner inside their own heads.
Thank you for all of your support as I head into the race this Saturday!!!
