Support Dalefield School in building a playground that fosters growth, play, & inclusion for all students, especially those with disabilities
Carterton, Wellington
How You Can Help
Our team is fundraising and applying for grants, but we need your support to complete our playground project. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to giving our students the playground they deserve.
Our Progress So Far
Thanks to donations and grants, we've raised $66,000. Partnering with "The Playground Company," we've completed Stage 1, bringing an amazing new playground to Dalefield School. However, we still need $125,000 to fully realise our vision.
Three years ago, our playground was destroyed for a parking area, leaving our students and community without a vital facility.
Dalefield School in Wairarapa, Carterton, serves 91 students from years 0 to 8. Notably, 27.5% of our students are neurodiverse or have health and learning disabilities.
Why a Playground Matters
A well-equipped playground is essential for children's development, especially for those with disabilities. It provides:
Physical Development: Encourages physical activity, developing strength, coordination, motor skills.
Social Skills: Fosters interaction, sharing, cooperation.
Cognitive Growth: Sparks creativity and problem-solving.
Emotional Well-being: Reduces stress, offering a joyful environment for expression.
By contributing to our campaign, you're investing in our children's future. Let’s create a space where all students, especially those with disabilities, can learn, grow, and thrive.
The Dugdale Charitable Trust has been associated with our school for a few years now through their generosity over the years to help us raise funds for providing computers for our students, repairs to our swimming pool and now help with our playground.
