Help support those who look after our kids in care.

My name is Dakota I am 26 years old with three children. In 2007 my siblings and I were put into Cyfs (child youth and family) but is now called Oranga Tamariki. For eight years of my life I resided in care with my younger siblings we went into more than 30+ homes between the four of us, the foster parents we had were amazing they believed in us and treated us like we were their own. I found being in the system and becoming an adult that they weren’t supported mentally, physically, or financially, and that’s what Caring Families Aotearoa do, support those who are raising kids who aren’t their’s biologically. Unfortunately, because they didn’t have the support many of them left the job. I want to support where I can so I have decided to smash 500kms in the next two months to fundraise towards this charity. 100kms will be done within 72hours. The start date being Thursday 3rd August and the end date Saturday the 30th of September. The date for the 100kms will be on August 25th commencing 28th August.

I want the best for our kids who are in care and what better way to contribute is to help those who are looking after them.
