"Hope on the Move" let's walk a mile in their shoes and walk to a different beat.

Orphan Aid International is a NZcharity working to rescue and help orphans and abandoned children around the world. This charity works hard to give them the love and care they need. I have witnessed over many years the positive changes in children when they are given a second chance and loved unconditionally by the carers in their lifespace. I want to use the analogy of the oyster.

When a grain of sand sneaks into a oyster shell the oyster defends itself by sacrificing some of its tissue to smooth over the troublesome sand adding layer upon layer until a pearl is formed. These children have had to overcome many challenges but if we reach out like the oyster and give of ourselves to smooth things over for these children. We turn the impossibilities into pearls. Thanks to Gaby James who introduced me to OAI, I felt compelled to support this drive

So through this Hawkes Marathon event (no not the full marathon for me..😆) I aim to walk 10km to raise an awareness of the needs of these children and trust that you will support me "pretty please" by donating and contributing towards this amazing charity for the children in their care.
