Help raise money for Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley by sponsoring me to walk the 50km Thames Path Challenge in September 2018 in London.

Wellington

Our first child Alexander was stillborn on 14 February 2018 at 39 weeks. We found out his heart had stopped beating at a routine hospital appointment, set up to discuss options if we went past his due date. It became clear once he was born that an undetected true knot in his umbilical cord had pulled tight in the 18 hours prior to that appointment. He was otherwise a perfectly healthy little baby boy.

I have decided to walk the 50km Thames Path Challenge in September 2018 in memory of my son Alexander and to help raise funds for Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley. Alex's dad and I have found the support groups such a comfort since he died, and we now know all the work that Sands do behind the scenes at the hospital to support newly bereaved parents. Thank you to everyone at Sands for helping us through this incredibly difficult time.

Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley have been an amazing support for us since our son died. We have valued the care and warmth of the support groups and all the work they do providing services for bereaved parents like us at the hospital.
