Hello Everyone,

I am raising money for the I Am Hope foundation.

On April 26, 2023, our life was changed forever when our 17-year-old grandson took his own life. To say we are devastated is an understatement. I am personally still struggling with this and have had to reach out for help from Helyn Corric who is a counselor in Kumeu. She has been amazing for me.

My grandson was doing very good at his college in Auckland even being voted by the other students to be the student representative on the Board of Trustees. He even taught himself how to play the piano and Base Guitar from You Tube. From this he started up a band at his school in which they sang at my grandson's wake. Very moving.

I Am Hope is all about supporting Mental Health for our children and youth suicide.

I cannot bring my grandson back, but I can do something to hopefully help other children doing something similar.

I have made the decision to try and raise $7,000 for I Am Hope.

I have been told that for each counselling session for one child it costs $140. I am going to hopefully raise enough money for 50 children to go to a counselor. This equates to the $7,000.

On February 24th, 2024, I'm also going to challenge myself. I am going to walk 42kms from Pegasus to Oxford. That equates to a marathon which is huge for me as I'm not the fittest person and a little overweight. Some of these children are doing it tough so I'm going to as well. I know I can do this as I know this cause will benefit a lot of children.
