Help Emily raise $1500 for hospice, in memory of her late Mum.
Wellington
In March of 2024, we lost my beautiful Mum after a 4 and a half years living with cancer.
Te Omanga hospice stepped in in her final days to support us caring for Mum at home, allowing us spend her last days together as a family, in the comfort of her home, and pass peacefully in her own bed. We are so grateful what Te Omanga did for our family, completely free of charge, and I want to ensure that everyone else facing a difficult time like this gets the same opportunity. A day of care in Te Omanga hospice is estimated to cost around $1500, and none of this is ever passed on to the family of the patient.
After she passed, I inherited Mum’s barely used running shoes. On 16th February 2025, my 29th birthday, I’ll be running the 8.4K event in the Round The Bays event, in Mum’s shoes. I would love to raise $1500 to cover a day of care on 26th March, one year on from her passing. Any extra we raise will go directly to Te Omanga.
As I spend the summer training for the event, join me in raising funds for this incredible organisation that allowed us to care for Mum in her final days.
