The ride took 10 hours and 15 minutes with another hour of breaks along the way. I left Titirangi in Auckland at 4am and arrived at the hospice in Tauranga at about 3:30pm.

The route went through Mt Albert then followed Great South Rd, over the Bombay hills, Tuakau, Huntly, Ngarawhaia, Whatwhata, Ohaupo, Cambridge, around the back of Karapiro, Matamata , then an extra 10km loop to make sure I got the 300km , then over the Kaimai range into Tauranga

I decided to do on Tuesday the 6th as the weather looked better than Thursday although Hawkesbay ended up getting the big rain and not the Waikato.

A big ride and I thank Richard Fox and Kerry Mcloud for joining me for parts of the journey.

The body held up really well, just a bit of cramp before the Kaimais.
